Welcome to Generously! We are absolutely thrilled that you’re here!

This year, the Publication Team will take you on the journey of understanding poverty. Poverty is a global plague. Although it is a well-known issue, it is not well-understood. Around 734 million people (10% of global population) lived on less than $1.90 a day in 2015 and 85% of the world live on less than $30 per day today. Adding onto the widespread problem, the COVID-19 pandemic is predicted to increase poverty by 8%. These numbers may provide some context to understand poverty, but poverty stems beyond monetary issues and a material lack.

To understand society’s rotting problem of poverty, the Publication Team will analyze one factor each month. We will explore topics such as food insecurity, housing, and psychological penury, issues that revolve around poverty. Although poverty is a complex and multi-layered problem, we hope to provide content that dissects and unveils the various ambiguities of the issue. We will be engaging our readers with insightful articles posted every Saturday at 9am Eastern Standard Time.

As Generous Kitchen combats poverty through donating food, Generous Kitchen’s Publication Team also hopes to fight poverty by shedding light on a crisis that has plagued humanity for centuries.
